Devices are mainly divided in to 4 categories: 4/5/7/8

In all of these series, 4 channel, 8 channel and16 channel are available. Recently all new dahua devices have changed from HCVR to XVR. THE HCVR was only available for analog camera, HDCVIs and IPs. Since 2017, when the producing of XVR started, in addition to analog, HDCVI and IP, it supported from AHD and TVI.

The 4 series Dahua, are considered lite series devices, these are 2 megapixel, but the record is 720P, which in market they are known as 1080N. In terms of functionality, they all have HDMI and VGA output, they haveP2P, IP cameras support up to 2 megapixel. Their hard drive has capacity up to 6 TB depending on the type of device 1 or 2 even support more hard drives.

The 5 series, record H264+, H265 and 1080P, but 1080 Lite is 15 frames, in other hand it records with 1080P quality, but the number of frames is less than 25.

The 7 series, record 1080P REAL, which it means all cameras are 4,8,16 channel and record 25 frames, and they are in PRO series.

The Dahua 8 series or ULTRA series devices (NVR, DVR) have lots of capabilities, first, their CPU is INTEL, and it is much stronger than PRO and LITE CPUs. They record H264+ ON device, which have more compress. The other abilities of this series are: face detection, smart tracking, people counting and trip wire. In old time, these abilities were used in Banks, and acsis and Panasonic brand have these abilities on their cameras.

These days, in places which need high security, use CVI analog camera with series 8 devices (DVR, NVR).

The special ability of 8 series is supporting 64, 2 megapixel IP cameras, which totally can support up to 12 megapixel (256 MB BANDWIDTH PER SECOND). The CVRs series 8 have the highest bandwidth of a NVR.

There is an example: we have one 8816 device which it has 8 hard drive, it records 16, 2 megapixel CVI cameras and 25 frames, plus it supports 64 IP cameras, it has strong CPU and we can cover an amphitheater or an airport with it.

XVR series 8, will be more effective and useful for upgrading the security protection of old projects which have 10 or 12 cameras.

Another good ability of 8 series is supporting RADE hard, the collogue who are familiar with network, know this hard very well,   in addition to 8 , 6 TB hard which can fit in this device, the more external hard can be connected to this device too.

Another significant ability of series 8 is having 2 or3 HDMI output, which is effective and can be supplied with several outputs and one of these outputs have 4K quality.

Various types of Dahua devices can be listed as below:

Like its cameras Dahua devices have 3 type: Lite/ Pro/Ultra. Lite series are 4 and 5 series, they have general use like in houses, companies, stores and everywhere which recording and playback is important for them.

The 7 series is in Pro series, and simple devices such as 7104 and 7204 listed in this group, and they use in apartments, business and large stores, and this series have 4 hard and 7 hard.
